Overview: The trail meanders around Lake Fayetteville using mostly single track but will occasionally incorporates the paved trail which pretty much parallels the single track. We normally start at Veterans Park but there are other various places where you can start including the Greenway which connects to this trail.

Physically the trail is not very demanding, the terrain is mostly flat with a few small climbs. This is one of those trails to get some speed work in. If you plan on going out there to set a new land speed record be fore-warned this place is popular with walkers and other bikers so go early. We have always ended up there on weekends and there has always been a few folks on the trail, so be cautious of other trail users.

Technically there is not much on this trail to get in trouble with, there is the occasional root but for the most part it is smooth hard packed earth. There are sections of the single track that goes through the woods that are a little tight, twisty.

Overall this is a really nice trail, well marked and pretty scenic in places. There are spots where you will be in the woods riding some nice single track and others where the trail circumnavigates around an open field. The trail has a real nice flow to it so there is not a lot of that hard braking action needed. The trail seems to get a lot of TLC.

Recommended Route: We always go counter clockwise but traffic is allowed both ways.

Rating: This trail should be good for everyone. This is a good novice and family trail, the more advanced riders might not enjoy it if they are looking for something with a little challenge to it but if you are just wanting to get quick ride in this trail might just be your best choice.

Arkansas Trail Rules

Ride Open Trails: Respect trail and road closures — ask a land manager for clarification if you are uncertain about the status of a trail.

Leave No Trace: Be sensitive to the dirt beneath you. Wet and muddy trails are more vulnerable to damage than dry ones. Don't cut switchbacks. Be sure to pack out at least as much as you pack in.

Control Your Bicycle: Inattention for even a moment could put yourself and others at risk. Obey all bicycle speed regulations and recommendations, and ride within your limits.

Yield Appropriately: Riders yeild to foot and horse traffic. Riders traveling downhill should yeild to ones headed uphill, unless signed for oneway or downhill traffic only.

Never Scare Animals: Animals are easily startled by an unannounced approach, a sudden movement or a loud noise. Give animals enough room and time to adjust to you.

Plan Ahead: Know your equipment, your ability and the area in which you are riding and prepare accordingly. Always wear a helmet and appropriate safety gear.
